“Transport Operator Licence requirements: To transport fare paying passengers the transport provider must be licenced by the local authority for the area in which it operates transfers either from or to i.e. All journeys must start or end in the licenced area. Any vehicle collecting fare paying passengers from Geneva must have a vehicle specific licence card issued by the Canton of Geneva. This includes private chalet operators and hotels offering “free” inclusive transfers. If the vehicle you are travelling in is stopped in a roadside spot check (a more frequent occurance nowadays) and the driver is unable to present the necessary documentation including a valid operators licence the driver could be arrested and the vehicle impounded and your journey will end there and then. If a company does not display their licence on their web site we recommend you verify their legality by asking for a copy of their operators licence before booking with them.
